A decent meal costs from 150 per head
Looking for that Bacolod chicken inasal with unlimited chicken oil that Mang Inasal used to have? Look no more!
JT’s Manukan Grille serves authentic Bacolod chicken inasal and other Ilonggo dishes. Bacolod inasal gid ya! JT stands for Joel Torre - the founder of this restaurant who is also an Ilonggo himself.
Are you an Ilonggo like me, living in Luzon, craving for home-cooked meals your parents used to make you but ingredients are just hard to find? Or are you just curious to try?
Here are some of the dishes (aside from inasal) you can order in JT’s. Munch some Happy peanuts while waiting for your order.
Kansi - Ilonggo version of Bulalo. Made from beef, beef stock with bone marrow and jackfruit. The soup would taste like a combination of Bulalo and Sinigang.
Apan-apan - Illongo version of adobong kang-kong. It is kang kong with vinegar and sauteed guinamos. Guinamos is an Illongo version of bagoong alamang or shrimp paste. This is one of my favorite dishes growing up.
You can also buy sinamak - illongo version of vinaigrette. See their menu below of what else you can order at JT's.
I will definitely come back and try Batchoy next time. Batchoy in Luzon is different - made from animal blood and misua. Ilo-ilo’s La paz batchoy is like mami with egg and chicharon!
I hope they will serve KBL as well - which is Kadios + Baboy (pork) + Langka (jackfruit).
Kaon ta at JT’s manukan grille! :) We visited their Nuvali branch. Check out below to find JT's Manukan Grille near you.
