Kalma Pilates and Yoga - Los Baños, Laguna

Finally, a pilates studio in Los Baños, Laguna. I have always wanted to try.

Kalma Pilates and Yoga is the first pilates studio in Los Baños — tucked on the 2nd floor of Oliva Bldg. along the National Highway in Brgy. Anos. Parking space is available.

Upon entering, remove your shoes and place them in the shoe rack.

The studio has a warm, minimalist look. On the wall: "your calm starts here."

While waiting for our class, we were seated in their lounge area. Even waiting is relaxing here.

They offer mat pilates, reformer pilates, cadillac pilates and yoga classes as group sessions of up to 5 people, or as private and duo classes.

Grip socks are required for class. I used the grip socks we got from WiiJump trampoline park in Alabang.

Our Private Class

For my first visit, I booked a 1:1 private pilates class to try both reformer and cadillac. I wanted to gauge myself before committing to a group class.

A while back, I did the fairy walk at Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor. To my surprise, I actually managed it — and that got me curious if I could handle cadillac pilates too.

I met coach Hanna, she taught me how to configure the resistance in the reformer and how to safely get on and get up. We did some warm up excersices, core, arms and obliques in the reformer as well. We used pilates ring during oblique training.

Equipment wall

Their equipment wall is well stocked — stability balls, pilates rings, resistance bands, foam rollers and a stack of rolled-up mats. Spray bottles are set out in little baskets underneath the rings, so you can sanitize your mat or equipment before and after use.

Retail corner

Just off the lounge is a small retail corner — pilates outfits, yoga mats, scrunchies, tote bags and grip socks are all available to buy. If you don't own a mat yet, you can rent one on-site, so there's really no excuse not to try a class.

Their promotional rate card also listed a ₱10,000 Premium Package (full studio design plus an extra hour of lounge use) — this wasn't showing as a separate bookable option in their online package list as of this writing, so it's worth confirming directly with Kalma if you want the upgraded version.
